Ground Floor

Garden Scargill CastleThe courtyard was the medieval and Tudor courtyard, once surrounded with buildings - these are now ruinous. The 19th century byre on the north side not only sits on the site of a medieval and Tudor building, but provides your sustainable energy via its solar panel roof and air source heat pump. In here you will also find a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The gardens consist of paved and cobbled pathways between box hedged raised bedding for herb gardens and vegetables. Please feel free to harvest anything that is in season while you stay here. Seating in front of the remains of the old Tudor fireplace allows you to imagine life 500 years ago in front of the same fireplace, throwing dice, drinking, maybe a small wager.....
